The Emergency Department is a participating trauma hospital in the Delaware Trauma SystemUnder nursing, the primary function is to perform hygiene/comfort measures and selected nursing and phlebotomy procedures for patients under the supervision and direction of the professional nurseAcquiring vital signs and performing EKG's are also requiredWe seek someone who can demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult & geriatric patientsShould demonstrate the ability to obtain information and identify patient needs and provide care as neededDuties Include:
Performs assigned nursing procedures that pertain to the comfort and well-being of patientsResponds to patient crisis situations and initiates interventions within the scope of responsibilities and notifies RNPerforms venipuncture and finger sticks on patients, following all standard laboratory safety policiesPerforms essential unit specific tasks under the direction of RN, e.
gEKGs, height and weight measurementsReviews orders placed for patient testing and sends lab specimens using PowerChart systemRequirements:
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) High school graduate or equivalentPrevious work experience or completion of Patient Care Technician and/or Phlebotomist programsShift/Hours:
56 hours per pay period - Consist of 8 and 12 hour shifts 11am-11pm, 11am-7pm, 3pm-11pm Every third weekend (12 hour shifts on the weekends) CCHS holiday rotation Recommended Skills Basic Life Support Electrocardiography Health Care Imaging Medical Emergency Nursing Apply to this job.
